Aldi extends its partnership with iForce

Aldi, the UK’s fifth largest and fastest growing supermarket, has extended its relationship with iForce – an Eddie Stobart company – for the future growth of its online platform for non-food products.

iForce were originally chosen by Aldi in 2015 to support the launch of its eCommerce platform for non-food Special buys and wine products. The extension of the partnership will mean that iForce can look at developing Aldi’s online proposition to grow its market share across the UK.

Operating out of the Corby campus sites, iForce will continue to provide Aldi with iForce Gateway – the fulfilment service powered by its proprietary software, SMART – which was deployed to maximise the efficiency of its fulfilment model ahead of the online launch back in 2015.

iForce’s team of supply chain experts designed a bespoke fulfilment model for Aldi, due to their unique proposition of bi-weekly product launches, and both teams worked closely during the early period to ensure that the platform went live on time and on budget.

Following a highly successful launch, the range and scope of Aldi’s online operation has continued to expand and iForce’s team of supply chain experts have helped ensure successful introductions of spirits, a significantly expanded garden range and a number of fast moving consumer goods.

Aldi also operates iForce Pathfinder, the company’s innovative carrier management solution that is supported by the Route Genie software. This ensures the retailer can achieve the best carrier options in terms of pricing and customer service.

David Barter, Managing Director of IT at Aldi, said: “Our eCommerce platform is a key part of our business, making our award-winning quality wine and Specialbuys available to as many people as possible.

“Using iForce’s expertise in fulfilment means we have now been able to expand our online offering, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”

Sébastien Desreumaux, CEO at iForce, said: “Aldi is a hugely successful, dynamic brand and we are extremely proud to continue our partnership and support the ongoing development of their eCommerce operation. Our industry-leading fulfilment and carrier management solutions are underpinned by bespoke proprietary software, developed over many years of managing challenges within the evolving modern eCommerce marketplace. This allows our business to provide tailored solutions that deliver true value for money.”
