Since September 2006, Waitrose have employed iForce to provide all direct to consumer fulfilment for its Waitrose Wine Direct operation.
As a particularly complex business, Waitrose have required a solution that can deliver orders ranging from individual consumer gift orders to palletised corporate orders. Additionally, there is also gift kitting assembly within the operation, where wine gifts are assembled from component parts in advance of despatch.
Year round, iForce manage the complexity of individual consumer orders and through its SMaRT warehouse management systems maintains an extremely high order accuracy of 99.9%.
During Christmas peak preparation, tens of thousands of gift kits are produced with the care and attention expected from a premium brand. Then during two weeks before Christmas these are distributed to consumer and corporate customers within agreed despatch windows.
Advancements of operational processes have led Waitrose to work on a practically just in time principle for goods-in activities ensuring iForce are able to manage stock levels and ongoing operating space as effectively as possible.
